n-groupoids and stacky groupoids
We discuss two generalizations of Lie groupoids. One consists of Lie n-groupoids defined as simplicial manifolds with trivial πk≥n+1. The other consists of stacky Lie groupoids G ⇒ M with G a differentiable stack. We build a 1–1 correspondence between Lie 2-groupoids and stacky Lie groupoids up to a certain Morita equivalence. We prove this in a general set-up so that the statement is valid in ...
متن کاملADJUNCTION OF n-EQUIVALENCES AND TRIAD CONNECTIVITY
We prove a new adjunction theorem for n-equivalences. This theorem enables us to produce a simple geometric version of proof of the triad connectivity theorem of Blakers and Massey. An important intermediate step is a study of the collapsing map S∨X → S,
متن کاملQuantification and Second-Order Monadicity
treatment of quantification is rightly regarded as a major advance in the study of logic and language. But it led Frege and others to some views that we can and should reject, given developments in the study of transformational grammar and compositional semantics. Once these views are put aside, the developments suggest that the common logical form of sentences like (1) and (2) (1) Every bottle...
متن کاملSemistrict Tamsamani N-groupoids and Connected N-types
Tamsamani’s weak n-groupoids are known to model n-types. In this paper we show that every Tamsamani weak n-groupoid representing a connected n-type is equivalent in a suitable way to a semistrict one. We obtain this result by comparing Tamsamani’s weak n-groupoids and catn−1-groups as models of connected n-types.

1. to determine whether difference in birth body mass influenced growth performance in pipistrellus kuhlii we studied a total of 12 captive-born neonates. bats were assigned to two body mass groups: light birth body mass (lbw: 0.89 ± 0.05, n=8) and heavy birth body mass (hbw: 1.35 ± 0.08, n=4). heavier body mass at birth was associated with rapid postnatal growth (body mass and forearm length) ...
